The Captain, Seductive

No you can't have my dinner you cozening hussy of a dog. Go back to sleep.

November 25, 1986

As of today, this photo is exactly 22 years old. Blows my goddamn mind. Look how awkward and wooden I am standing there with my dumbass little frock. Dwaa.

This is me, my older sister, my Dad (top), and my parents' boyfriend Mark (left) chilling at the river. I think Mom took the picture.

And here's the man himself: Dad in his electronic music studio, back in the 1980s. You can see one of his paintings on the wall (the one next to the window, not the Hawkwind wallscroll).

Yup. I was raised by polyamorous hippie new-age freaks.

These old photos are so awesome.

LUKA IS A PIMP

I have a video of my mother telling the camera that "Luka is a pimp." It was taken a month before she died and was originally intended for posting on my website. Now it's the only recording of her that I have. Well, okay, there was that audio tape I secretly made in 2004 of my sister screeching at her for five minutes over nothing, but that would be a pretty lame memorial so it doesn't count).

I should feel like the fact that this unique film clip contains my mother calling me a pimp instead of giving meaningful advice or telling me where the family gold is buried is not the epitome of TOTALLY AWESOME, but secretly I know damn well that it is.

Today was a hugely productive day, but very boring to retell--all art commissions, arm warmers and keychains that I have addresses for have been mailed out. Laundry, dishes, cleaning, gym run, all done and done well.

Here's a cool picture from my upcoming photo post. It looks like shit small so fullsize for great justice.

It's the full October moon snogging the sun behind a bunch of clouds.

Photo Post: July 2008

Doing what he does best, I guess...

These delightful little fellas have started a day care on the wall lining a local sidewalk.

This right here? This is why I will never have children.

My hair did this after I dyed it yesterday. I struggle to understand the connotations.

------

Still dead scanner. Still no bike. Somebody said they had a lead on a new one but I think I deleted their post by accident when I was removing entries regarding Fight Club. Shit, I'm sorry about that. I am very interested! The dog and I both grow fleshier and walkies fail to satisfy.

Shrink tomorrow afternoon. Can afford it because people, they are amazing.

Sentences deteriorating. Lolcat ray suspected. I can has bedtime?

October 2007 Photo Post: Digest Edition!

Trying out the macro settings.

My dog on the roof outside my bedroom.

Neat fungus by the Cannon River.

This shot was almost discarded until I realized it wanted macroing.

The bustling metropolis of Northfield!

The bustling metropolis of Northfield, part deux!

My favorite autumn shot.

A nice view of the Cannon riverbank taken from Northfield's river walk, which leads to the dog park on one end and center of town on the other.

Rah found this little guy in the street.

Flooded park walk.

The dog park.

The Captain watches a much braver dog fetch a ball from the river.

The leaves on the tree that overhangs our yard turned the best shade of buttery yellow, which was charming until there was a windy night and the tree shat its entire load of foliage down over the yard I'd just raked a day before.

More leaf porn.

Another "testing out the macro" shot, included simply because SHIIIINY.

(Sorry to all you slow-modem types. I'd use a cut but Blogger doesn't work that way.)

Halloween Pics!

Jesse carved.

I carved.

Rah carved.

I got desperate and carved apples when we ran out of pumpkins. It was really easy, and I think I'll do a ton of apples next year.

The battery-operated Woe Ghost that greeted our neighborhood's kidlets when they came to trick-or-treat.

This is more autumn than Halloween, but here's a pic of Rah enjoying the fruits of her raking efforts this week.

Lots of kids showed up for candy this year, and we had fun making the jack-o-lanterns. (Last year nobody came to the door all night, and that pretty much sucked.)

We had a little girl dressed like a surgeon, complete with the little paper hair-covering, and a boy in a homemade cardboard costume that was a giant million dollar bill with a hole for his face to poke through.

Also there was a girl in a nice sparkly dress and I asked if she was a princess, and she wrinkled her nose and said "I'm a WITCH!" I told her witches were much cooler than princesses. At the end of the night we had some teenagers show up, one of whom was a chick in a sort of candy raver getup and white bandanna over her face. She said she was the Rainbow Bandit.

This town is awesome. I love Halloween.
