Funimation just gets cooler and cooler. First they rescued One Piece from the rape dungeon of 4Kids Entertainment, now they've gone and solved the Fansub/Licensed Show problem.

Basically, there's a new Full Metal Alchemist series coming out. It's sort of a reboot that will follow the manga plot instead of the TV-only story of the previous series. Funimation said "Dood, let's let people watch the subs for free on our site every week after it airs in Japan!" and there was much rejoicing. Seriously, that is fucking cool of them. It caused a bit of a traffic problem on their site, but letting the episodes load before watching is a small price to pay for keeping current with the series AND supporting the official release.

Roy's new voice took a bit of getting used to, though. Not bad, just different.

The sickness continues. I coughed so hard I threw up three times yesterday, but luckily it was only a little bit and I was able to motor on. Lots of vertigo today.

The news is full of Swine Flu panic right now, which doesn't exactly make me feel better about sleeping 12 hours and waking up with vertigo. I spent the dizziest time curled up in the big chair downstairs, catching Golden Whales on Unlimited Adventure with a heating pad behind my neck. Life could be worse.

One Piece Dub Sample

It's not the best dub I've ever heard, but holy fuck, what an improvement over the 4Kids version!

The first episode of the Skypiea arc airs tomorrow, but since I don't have Cartoon Network, I'm just going to have to hope they put it on sale in the iTunes Funimation store.

I still feel horrible, but after a nice tasty meal I've stopped wanting to punch every face I see. Low blood sugar makes a sad Luka in to a PSYCHO LUKA.

Back to work. I've got to finish 4 pages this weekend, and I haven't been able to concentrate properly on the work today. Once again, I'm way behind.

But that's okay, because

One Piece Dub Cast Voice Samples

Voice actor clips! I'm not sure I like the Luffy voice, but otherwise I think they did pretty good. Usopp and Nami in particular strike me as excellently matched.

The best thing is that the voice samples for Sanji all seem to involve him calling somebody "Titties" and "Funbags." Methinks someone had a lot of fun finding appropriately perverted dialogue to share.

Almost done inking for this week's update. Yup, I'm actually ahead of schedule this time.

Raffle happens this weekend. I am thinking it would be cool to have the prize be a chance to appear as a character (and be killed off horribly) in Kagerou, Book 3.

The Battle Of Myspace, Part Deux

I spent the day out of the house because it was too nice to be stuck in here brooding. Went to the lake and took some pictures, then to Panera with Rain so she could have a bagel. I also found a SOGEKING & CHOPPER figurine set at the Tomodachi store for ten bucks and went over budget because it had to be mine. I will call it a reward for getting through this shitty week.

Got back home and noticed that the Shmorky V. Goliath Myspace shenanigans have het up considerable in my absence. Todd Goldman, or one of his friends, has begun hacking and vandalizing various MySpace accounts belonging to people who asked to be added during he first leg of the Battle. Indecent content created for the occasion and hosted on Cockface's own website is being uploaded to their userpages. I doubt he can explain that one away as an accident!

Far from ending with the civility of a settlement, it looks like :TODD: will be unsatisfied with anything short of a full-blown temper tantrum. I look forward to seeing how this plays out,and will keep an eye out for screenshots.
